BND serves as the depository agency and provider of banking services for all state agencies, boards, commissions, and higher education institutions. All state revenues are deposited with BND.
The Bank provides checking accounts, savings accounts, Certificates of Deposit, online banking, ACH services, positive pay, remote deposit capture, domestic and international wire transfers, and merchant services. Additionally, we offer government security purchases, safekeeping, escrow agent services, and trustee and bond services. BND waives the cost of the majority of these products and services for state agencies.
BND is also a lender to state agencies to meet cash shortfalls or manage cash flow when large expenditures are incurred.
The Trust Lands agency utilizes BND services to resolve disputed royalty accounts and for School Construction Loans.
The Oil & Gas Division of the Industrial Council utilizes BND for cash bonding for oil and gas, geophysical, geothermal, subsurface mineral and coal exploration mediation.
BND serves as the trustee and paying agent for various Public Finance Authority programs which include Capital Financing, Industrial Development, Legacy Fund Infrastructure and the State Revolving Fund.
The Department of Environmental Quality requires trust and escrow agreements to meet financial assurance requirements for closure or post-closure of a facility and BND provides that service.
Other entities accessing BND as trustee and paying agent include the Metro Flood Diversion Authority, State Board of Higher Education and five colleges and universities, the Department of Public Instruction, cities, counties, water districts, public school districts, building authorities and park districts.
BND 101 continued
